[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 거제시는 올해 상반기에 이어 행정안전부 및 경남도 주관 신속집행 평가에서 연속 우수기관으로 선정되며, 총 5억 8천만 원의 재정 인센티브를 확보해 7년 연속 우수기관의 위상을 지켜냈다.
특히 불용액과 이월액을 최소화하기 위해 사업 계획 단계부터 세밀한 수요 예측과 함께 분기별 재정집행 점검 회의를 통해 집행잔액을 철저히 관리했다.
이 과정에서 발생 가능한 집행잔액을 조기에 파악해 추경예산에 재투자함으로써 예산 낭비를 막고, ‘속도’보다 ‘정확성과 효율성’에 집중한 점이 큰 성과로 평가됐다.
시 관계자는 "무조건 빨리 예산을 쓰는 ‘속도전’보다는, 예산을 낭비 없이 온전히 쓰이도록 하는 ‘정확성과 효율성’에 중점을 둔 것이 좋은 평가로 이어졌다”고 설명했다.
이번에 확보한 인센티브 2억 원은 지역 주민 숙원사업에 전액 활용될 예정으로, 거제시의 실질적인 지역 발전과 시민 생활 개선에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
