파주시는 지난 4일, 운정3동 주민들의 오랜 숙원 사업이었던 ‘운정3동 행정복지센터’ 개청식을 개최하고 본격적인 대민 행정 서비스 운영에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 김경일 파주시장을 비롯해 박대성 파주시의회 의장, 시·도의원, 유관기관 관계자 및 지역 주민 등 100여 명이 참석해 새로운 출발을 축하했다.

개청식은 경과보고를 시작으로 기념사 및 축사, 테이프 커팅식(색줄 자르기), 청사 순회 순으로 진행됐다.
이번에 문을 연 운정3동 행정복지센터는 총사업비 180억 원이 투입되었으며, 연면적 4,423㎡(지하 1층~지상 4층) 규모로 건립됐다.
청사 내에는 주민들의 편의를 극대화하기 위한 다양한 시설이 마련됐다.
주요 시설은 민원실, 주민자치 프로그램실, 회의실, 상담실 등이 있으며 특화 시설로는 청소년자유공간 ‘쉼표 7호점’ (주민들의 요구를 적극 반영하여 조성된 청소년 전용 휴식 공간)이 있다.

배성진 파주시 공공건축과장은 “이번 개청은 단순한 청사 신설을 넘어 주민 삶의 질을 높이는 생활밀착형 행정의 시작”이라며, “시민과 가장 가까운 곳에서 소통하고 공감하는 행정 실현의 핵심 거점이 될 것으로 기대한다”라고 전했다.
최근 운정신도시 내 지속적인 인구 유입으로 인해 행정·복지·문화에 대한 수요가 급증함에 따라, 이번 신축 개청은 보다 신속하고 체계적인 서비스 제공에 기여할 전망이다.
