파주시 중앙도서관이 시민의 삶 속에 남아 있는 기록을 통해 지역의 역사를 되살리고자 ‘제5회 파주 민간기록물 수집 공모전’을 개최한다.
공모 기간은 2월 23일부터 8월 28일까지다.

올해로 다섯 번째를 맞는 이번 공모전은 개인의 일상, 마을의 변화, 시대의 흔적이 담긴 자료를 통해 파주의 역사를 입체적으로 조명하고, 지역 공동체의 기억을 다음 세대에 전승하는 것을 목표로 한다.
수집 대상은 1990년대 이전 파주의 모습과 생활상을 보여주는 각종 기록물이며 사진, 문서, 일기, 편지, 포스터 등 파주의 과거를 증언할 수 있는 모든 형태의 자료가 포함된다.
응모는 전 국민 누구나 가능하며, 참가자는 신청서를 작성해 파주시 공공도서관 18개소 중 한 곳에 직접 방문해 제출하면 되며 접수된 자료는 전문가 심사를 거쳐 선정되며, 우수작에는 시상이 주어진다.
선정된 기록물은 파주시의 소장 자료로 보존되고, 향후 전시·도서 발간·홍보물 제작·파주시청 누리집 게시 등 다양한 공익적 방식으로 시민들에게 공개될 예정이며 심사 결과는 오는 10월 중 파주시청 누리집을 통해 발표된다.
임봉성 파주시 중앙도서관장은 “시민 한 사람 한 사람의 기억이 모여 파주의 역사가 된다”며 “개인과 마을에서 소중히 간직해 온 기록이 지역의 문화자산으로 이어질 수 있도록 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”고 말했다.

Paju City Holds 5th Private Records Collection Contest… “Citizens' Memories Become History”
The Paju City Central Library is hosting the "5th Paju Private Records Collection Contest" to revive local history through records that remain in the lives of its citizens.
The contest runs from February 23rd to August 28th.
Now in its fifth year, the contest aims to illuminate Paju's history through materials that capture the daily lives of individuals, the changes in the village, and traces of the times, and to pass on the memories of the local community to future generations.
