[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 외국인의 의료 편의를 높이기 위해 AI 기술을 활용한 다국어 의료지원 플랫폼 구축에 나섰다.
시는 4일 오후 시청 국제의전실에서 부산광역시병원회, 부산일보, ㈜월드다가치와 함께 ‘AI 기반 외국인 의료기관 이용편의 향상을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다. 이번 협약은 외국인 주민과 방문객이 언어 장벽 없이 지역 의료서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 지원하고, 지역 병원의 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 것이다.
협약식에는 박형준 부산시장, 박종호 부산광역시병원회장, 손영신 부산일보 대표이사, 권해석 ㈜월드다가치 대표이사가 참석했으며, 협약 기간은 1년이다.
주요 협약 내용은 ▲부산시의 외국인 친화 의료환경 조성을 위한 행정·제도 지원 ▲부산시병원회의 회원 병원 플랫폼 참여 및 시스템 연계 ▲부산일보의 홍보 지원 ▲㈜월드다가치의 AI 기반 다국어 의료예약 시스템 제공 등이다.
시는 이번 협약을 통해 16개국 언어로 통·번역이 가능한 AI 의료예약 플랫폼을 도입하고, 의료기관 간 연계를 확대할 계획이다. 이에 따라 외국인은 접수부터 진료, 사후 관리까지 언어 장벽 없는 의료서비스를 받게 될 전망이다.
박형준 시장은 “이번 협약은 외국인 주민과 방문객이 체감할 수 있는 의료환경 혁신의 출발점”이라며 “행정, 의료계, 언론, 기업이 협력해 통합 지원체계를 마련하고 글로벌 도시 부산의 정주환경을 한 단계 높이겠다”고 말했다.
그는 이어 “AI 기술을 적극 활용해 외국인이 가장 살기 좋고 의료 이용이 편리한 ‘글로벌 허브도시 부산’을 조성하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

The city of Busan has launched an initiative to remove language barriers in local healthcare services by establishing an AI-powered multilingual medical support platform.
On March 4, the city signed a business agreement with the Busan Hospital Association, the Busan Ilbo, and World Dagachi Co. to enhance foreigners’ access to medical institutions. The partnership aims to improve convenience for foreign residents and visitors while boosting the global competitiveness of local hospitals.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mayor Park Heong-joon, Busan Hospital Association Chairman Park Jong-ho, Busan Ilbo CEO Son Young-shin, and World Dagachi CEO Kwon Hae-seok. The one-year agreement outlines cooperation among the public, media, and private sectors.
Under the agreement, Busan City will provide administrative and institutional support to foster a foreigner-friendly medical environment. The Busan Hospital Association will encourage member hospitals to join the platform, while the Busan Ilbo will promote the initiative through media coverage. World Dagachi will supply its AI-based multilingual reservation and real-time translation system, linking hospitals and foreign patients.
With translation available in 16 languages, the platform is expected to enable foreigners to make reservations, consult doctors, and receive post-care support without communication barriers.
“This agreement marks an important first step toward creating a medical environment that foreign residents and visitors can truly feel,” Mayor Park said. “By establishing an integrated support system from registration to post-treatment, we will enhance Busan’s status as a global city.”
He added, “Leveraging AI technology, Busan will become one of the most livable and accessible global hub cities for foreigners.”
