파주시 문산도서관이 문화체육관광부가 주최하고 한국문화예술위원회가 주관하는 ‘2026년 문학상주작가 지원사업’에 처음으로 선정됐다.

문학상주작가 지원사업은 문학 기반 시설에 작가가 일정 기간 상주하며 창작 활동을 이어가는 동시에 시민을 위한 다양한 문학 프로그램을 운영하도록 지원하는 사업이다.
지난해 9월 개관한 문산도서관은 ‘평화’를 특화 주제로 운영되고 있으며 이번 사업을 통해 문학을 매개로 시민들의 일상 속 평화 감수성을 확장하는 프로그램을 선보일 계획이며 특히 ‘관찰’을 핵심 주제로 작가의 시선으로 발견한 문장을 시민들과 나누고 읽기와 쓰기를 통해 서로의 삶을 마주하는 시간을 마련한다.
상주작가는 도서관에 마련된 집필 공간에서 창작 활동을 이어가며 시민과 함께하는 글쓰기 강좌와 문장 나눔 활동을 비롯해 전시와 낭독회 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영할 예정이다.
문산도서관은 이번 사업을 통해 작가의 창작 환경을 안정적으로 지원하는 한편 문학을 통해 지역사회 안에서 평화와 공존의 가치를 확산하는 역할을 강화해 나갈 방침이며 이인숙 문산도서관장은 “문학상주작가와의 만남이 도서관이 한 단계 더 성장하는 계기가 될 것”이라며 “작가의 시선이 더해져 시민들이 서로의 삶을 이해하고 공감하는 시간이 마련되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.

Munsan Library Selected for the '2026 Literary Writer-in-Residence Support Program'
Paju City's Munsan Library has been selected for the '2026 Literary Writer-in-Residence Support Program,' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Arts Council Korea.
The Literary Writer-in-Residence Program supports writers by allowing them to reside in literary facilities for a certain period of time, continuing their creative work while also running various literary programs for the public.
Opened in September of last year, Munsan Library specializes in the theme of "peace." Through this program, the library plans to introduce programs that expand citizens' sensibilities for peace in their daily lives through literature. Specifically, "observation" will be the core theme. The program will share with the public the writings discovered through the writer's perspective, creating opportunities for reading and writing to connect with each other's lives.
The resident writers will continue their creative work in the library's writing space and will also host various programs, including writing classes and writing sharing activities, exhibitions, and reading sessions.
Through this project, Munsan Library plans to steadily support the creative environment of writers while strengthening its role in spreading the values of peace and coexistence within the local community through literature.
