민주평화통일자문회의 고양시협의회가 한반도 평화공존을 위한 정책 방향을 논의하고 지역사회 기반의 통일 활동을 강화하기 위한 2026년 1분기 정기회의를 개최했다.
민주평화통일자문회의 고양시협의회(협의회장 김성주, 이하 고양협의회)는 지난 3월 6일 오후 5시 30분 고양시 덕양구청 대회의실에서 자문위원 등 관계자 120여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘한반도 평화공존을 위한 대내외 정책 추진방향’을 주제로 2026년 1분기 정기회의를 열었다고 밝혔다.

이날 회의는 국민의례를 시작으로 자문위원 통일의견수렴을 위한 주제 설명과 분과별 토론, 2026년 고양시협의회 주요 사업계획 공유 및 의견수렴 순으로 진행됐다.
특히 통일의견수렴 세션에서는 조별 토론이 활발하게 이뤄지며 급변하는 국제 정세 속에서 평화공존 정책이 나아가야 할 방향과 지역사회에서 민주평통이 실천할 수 있는 구체적인 과제들이 제시됐다.
고양협의회는 이날 논의된 다양한 의견을 종합해 민주평통 사무처에 전달할 계획이다.
김성주 협의회장은 개회사에서 “변화하는 한반도 정세에 맞춰 평화공존을 위한 현실적인 대안을 고민해야 할 시점”이라며 “자문위원들의 소중한 의견이 실제 정책에 반영될 수 있도록 통일의견수렴 과정을 내실 있게 운영하겠다”고 말했다.
고양협의회는 이날 회의에서 2026년 주요 사업계획도 공유했다.

올해에는 평화통일 공공외교 확대를 위한 해외교류 협력사업과 외교 활동 강화, 자문위원 워크숍과 평화통일 최고위과정 운영을 통한 역량 강화, 청소년 통일캠프를 통한 미래세대 육성, 활동보고회와 송년행사 등을 통한 네트워크 구축 등 다양한 사업을 추진할 예정이다.
또한 자문위원 복지 증진과 지역사회 협력 체계 강화를 위해 관내 민간·공공기관 6곳과 업무협약을 체결하고 상조회 운영 회칙을 배포하는 등 조직 내부의 결속력을 다지는 시간도 마련됐다.
고양협의회는 앞으로 국민참여형 통일의견수렴 활성화와 사회적 대화를 통한 평화문화 확산, 통일미래세대 육성 등을 핵심 과제로 삼아 지역사회에서 평화통일 기반을 확대하는 활동을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 방침이다.
