[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시는 행정안전부가 주관하는 '안부살핌 우편서비스'공모사업에 선정됨에 따라, 지역 내 복지 사각지대 해소를 위한 촘촘한 안전망 구축에 나선다.
이를 위해 시는 9일 밀양우체국과 '밀양 이음 똑똑, 안부살핌 우편서비스'사업의 성공적인 추진을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
이번 사업은 사회적 고립 위험이 높은 1인 가구 180가구를 대상으로 하며 오는 5월부터 시행될 예정이다.
집배원이 월 2회 해당 가구를 방문해 물품을 전달하며 대상자의 안부를 직접 확인하는 방식으로 운영된다.
특히 배송 물품은 지역 내 밀양물산과 협업해 농산물 및 가공식품 등으로 구성할 예정이다.
이를 통해 취약계층 지원뿐만 아니라 지역자원을 연계한 지역 경제 활성화의 효과를 거둘 것으로 기대된다.
시는 3월부터 4월까지 읍 면 동 행정복지센터를 통해 지원이 필요한 대상자를 집중 발굴할 계획이다.
안병구 밀양시장은 "이번 공모 선정과 협약을 계기로 유관기관과 협력해 고립 가구에 대한 돌봄 체계를 강화하고 촘촘한 복지 안전망을 구축하는 데 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
