고양특례시가 능곡 재개발 지역 내 학생들의 안전한 등하굣길 보장을 위해 직접 현장 점검에 나섰다.
고양시는 최근 철거 작업이 본격화된 능곡5구역을 중심으로 재개발 지역 전반의 통학 여건을 점검하는 '현장 로드체킹'을 실시했다.

이번 점검은 공사 현장 인근의 위험 요인을 사전에 차단하고, 빠르게 변화하는 도시 환경 속에서도 학생들의 통학권을 지키기 위해 추진됐다.
이날 로드체킹에는 시 관계부서뿐만 아니라 학부모와 학교 관계자가 합동으로 참여해 현장 중심의 실효성 있는 점검이 이뤄졌다.
참석자들은 학생들이 매일 오가는 등굣길을 직접 걸으며 보행 동선과 공사 차량 이동 구간의 중첩 여부를 면밀히 살폈다.
공사장 주변 안전펜스·가드레일 설치 상태, 공사 차량과 학생 통행 구간의 물리적 분리 여부, 신호수 운영 현황은 물론 시야가 가려진 사각지대와 충돌 위험 구간, 횡단보도 및 교통안전 시설물의 정상 작동 여부까지 꼼꼼히 확인했다.
시는 현장에서 발견된 미비점 가운데 즉시 조치가 가능한 사항은 그 자리에서 바로 보완 지시를 내렸으며, 구조적인 개선이나 추가 검토가 필요한 사안에 대해서는 관계부서 간 협의를 거쳐 구체적인 후속 대책을 마련할 계획이다.

이동환 고양특례시장은 "도시가 변화하고 재개발이 진행되는 과정에서 무엇보다 우선시되어야 할 가치는 바로 아이들의 안전"이라며 "공사 현장 주변 통학로에서 단 하나의 작은 위험 요인도 놓치지 않도록 세심하게 살펴야 한다"고 강조했다.
이어 "앞으로도 학부모와 학교의 목소리를 경청해 안심하고 아이를 보낼 수 있는 통학 환경을 조성하겠다"고 밝혔다.
고양시는 앞으로도 재개발 사업이 진행 중인 지역을 중심으로 지속적인 현장 점검을 이어갈 방침이다.
특히 공사 공정에 따라 수시로 변화하는 통학 환경에 유연하게 대응할 수 있도록 상시 모니터링 체계를 강화해 나갈 예정이다.
