[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 최근 중동 지역 정세 불안과 호르무즈 해협 긴장 고조로 인한 국제 유가 불안정에 대응하기 위해 석유판매업 특별점검에 나섰다. 이번 조치는 지난 5일 정부가 국가자원안보특별법에 따라 자원안보 위기경보 ‘관심’을 발령한 데 따른 선제적 대응이다.
시는 이번 점검을 통해 가짜 석유 판매와 석유가격 표시제 위반 등 불법 유통 행위를 사전에 차단해 석유 시장의 질서를 안정적으로 관리한다는 방침이다. 점검은 3월 6일부터 관내 주유소 361곳과 일반판매소 132곳 등 총 493곳을 대상으로 진행되고 있다.
부산시는 시와 구·군 공무원으로 구성된 17개 점검반 34명을 투입해 자원안보 위기경보 해제 시까지 상시 점검을 이어간다. 점검 항목은 가짜 석유 판매 여부, 가격표시제 준수 여부, 정량 미달 판매 등 유통 질서 전반을 포괄한다. 한국석유관리원과 합동으로 비노출 검사 차량을 활용한 암행 점검을 벌이고, 야간과 휴일에도 단속을 강화할 계획이다.
시는 물류 수요가 높은 서부산권과 가격 민감도가 높은 해운대 등 도심 지역을 중심으로 점검을 집중하고 있다. 적발된 위반 행위에 대해서는 과태료 부과, 사업 정지 등 즉각적인 행정처분과 함께 형사고발 등 엄정한 조치를 취할 예정이다.
부산시는 또 석유 수급 불균형이나 부정 거래가 우려되는 주유소를 대상으로 범정부 합동점검에 참여하고, 산업통상자원부의 석유 판매가격 상한제 지정이나 비축유 방출 등 정책 변동을 지속적으로 모니터링한다. 아울러 주유소 업계에 유류가격 안정화 협조를 요청하고 석유업계와의 소통도 강화할 예정이다.
박형준 부산시장은 “중동 사태 장기화에 대비해 비상 대응체계를 유지하고 있다”며 “시와 구·군, 유관기관의 합동 점검을 통해 석유제품 유통질서를 바로잡고 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 유류비 부담 완화에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

The Busan Metropolitan Government has launched special inspections of fuel retailers in response to rising concerns over global oil price instability caused by tensions in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz.
The move follows the central government’s March 5 declaration of a “concern” level energy security alert under the National Resources Security Act. City officials said the inspections are a preemptive step to prevent illegal fuel sales and protect consumers from sudden price hikes.
Since March 6, inspection teams have been visiting 493 fuel outlets across the city, including 361 gas stations and 132 general distributors. Seventeen teams involving city and district officials are conducting continuous checks until the alert is lifted.
The inspections focus on the sale of fake fuel, compliance with price display regulations, and short-volume sales. Working jointly with the Korea Petroleum Management Institute, the city is also deploying undercover vehicles for unannounced checks, including during nights and weekends.
Busan is strengthening oversight in western logistics zones and commercial areas such as Haeundae, where fuel price sensitivity is high. Violations will result in immediate administrative action such as fines, suspension orders, or criminal charges.
The city also plans to join nationwide joint inspections of stations with suspected supply irregularities and will closely monitor government measures such as fuel price caps and the release of reserve oil. Officials said they will continue encouraging fuel businesses to cooperate voluntarily in stabilizing prices.
Mayor Park Heong-joon said Busan is maintaining an emergency response system to prepare for a prolonged Middle East crisis. “Through joint inspections with local governments and related agencies, we will restore order in the fuel market and work to ease the financial burden citizens feel at the pump,” he said.
