㈜에이엔폴리는 지난해 12월 포항지식산업센터를 졸업한 기업으로, 입주 기간 동안 기술 고도화와 상용화 기반을 마련한 뒤 사업 확장에 따라 독자 생산시설 구축을 추진하며 이전했다.
이 기업은 입주 기간 중 2021년 포항 유망강소기업으로 지정됐으며, 포항TP의 기업지원 프로그램을 통해 약 40억 원 규모의 투자 유치와 ‘CES 2024 혁신상’ 수상 등 성과를 거두며 성장세를 이어왔다.
또한 지난해 12월 포항융합기술산업지구 내에 4,400㎡ 규모의 신축 공장을 완공하고 입주를 마쳤다. 해당 공장은 연간 1,500톤 규모의 나노셀룰로오스 생산이 가능해 향후 안정적인 대량 공급 체계를 구축할 것으로 기대된다.
㈜에이엔폴리는 폐자원을 활용해 고품질 나노셀룰로오스를 개발·상용화하는 친환경 소재 기업으로, 연구개발 단계에 머물러 있던 관련 기술을 산업 현장에 적용 가능한 수준으로 끌어올렸다는 평가를 받고 있다. 나노셀룰로오스는 목재나 바이오매스에서 추출되는 친환경 섬유 소재로 높은 강도와 점착력, 안정성을 갖춘 차세대 고기능성 소재로, 이차전지와 친환경 소재, 바이오, 화장품 등 다양한 산업 분야에 활용되고 있다.
특히 대량 생산 공정 구축과 품질 균일성 확보에 성공하며 양산 기술을 확보했고, 폐자원 활용 기반 기술을 통해 ESG 중심의 친환경 소재 산업 생태계 확장에도 기여하고 있다.
