문충운 예비후보는 9일, 페이스북에 글을 올려 "포항에는 단순한 행정가가 아닌 미래 산업·기술을 이해하는 진짜 미래형 혁신 리더가 필요하다"며 "'포항 최초의 이공계 출신 시장', '포항 미래 성장을 설계할 준비된 시장'은 바로 저 문충운이 답이다"고 강조했다.
박대기 예비후보도 이날 입장문을 통해 “포항시민 여러분의 성원으로 국민의힘 경선 대상자로 선정됐다”며 “앞으로 시민들을 더 많이 만나 생각과 비전을 설명하겠다”고 밝혔다.
