대전시가 일반 공무원 350명을 산불 진화대로 조직하고 전문 교육으로 대형 산불 대응력을 높인다. 봄철 산불조심 기간 중 잔불 정리와 뒷불 감시에 주력한다.

한국산불방지기술협회 전문가가 진행한 이론과 장비 실습은 이상기후로 대형화된 산불에 신속 대응하기 위한 조치다.
초기 산불은 산림 공무원과 전문진화대가 맡고, 10ha 이상 확산 시 구청 진화대, 100ha 이상 대형화 시 시청 진화대가 투입된다. 매년 10시간 이상 교육 이수로 현장 역량을 강화한다.
