함안군, 제107주년 군북 3·20 독립만세운동

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함안군 제107주년 군북 3·20독립만세운동 기념행사가 20일 군북3·1독립운동기념탑과 군북공설운동장에서 개최했다.

이번 행사는 삼남지역에서 가장 많은 사상자가 발생하며 독립운동의 기폭제 역할을 했던 군북 3·20독립만세운동을 기념하고 일제의 탄압에 맞서 독립 만세를 외친 애국지사를 추모하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 행사에는 석욱희 함안부군수, 이만호 함안군의회 의장, 도의원 및 군의원, 김정도 육군39사단장, 김상우 경남동부보훈지청장, 관내 기관장 및 단체장, 유족 대표, 39사단 장병, 주민 등 800여명이 참석했다.

행사는 오전 9시 3·1독립운동기념탑에서 제례행사를 시작으로 군북중학교 운동장에서 출발해 군북 시내와 39사단 삼거리를 거쳐 공설운동장까지 이어지는 시가행진 재현행사로 진행돼 107년 전 그날의 감동을 재현했다.

이어 식전 행사에서는 상황극 재현, 충무어린이집 공연, 진혼무와 추모시 낭송이 진행됐고 기념식에서는 독립선언서 낭독, 3·1절 노래 제창, 만세삼창 등이 이어졌다.

식후 행사로는 기공체조 등이 더해져 참석자들에게 풍성한 볼거리를 제공했다.

박용순 군북3·1독립운동기념사업회 회장은 "군북 만세운동은 삼남 지역에서 가장 치열하고 사상자가 많았던 의거로 이번 기념행사가 그 역사적 가치를 되새기는 계기가 되기를 바란다"며 "앞으로도 그 정신을 계승하고 순국선열의 위업을 기리는 행사로 발전시켜 나가겠다"고 말했다.
