파주시가 지난 19일 시청 대회의실에서 운정신도시연합회(운연회)와 간담회를 열고 운정지역 주민들의 주요 현안과 건의사항을 청취했다.
이날 간담회에는 김경일 파주시장을 비롯해 운연회 임원진과 관련 부서장들이 참석한 가운데, 운정신도시의 발전 방향과 정책 과제를 놓고 심도 있는 의견을 나눴다.
운연회는 입주민 의견을 수렴해 선정한 8가지 건의사항을 시에 전달했다.

교통 분야에서는 지하철 3호선 파주 연장, 서해선 운정 연장 조속 착공, GTX 운정중앙역 환승 연계를 위한 버스 노선 증차 및 신설, 수도권 제2순환고속도로 운정IC 입체화 반영 등이 논의됐다.
아울러 파주메디컬클러스터 내 대학병원급 의료기관 유치와 경기경제과학진흥원 파주시 이전, GTX 역세권 특별계획구역 조속 개발, 공공생활기반시설(SOC) 확충 방안도 주요 의제로 다뤄졌다.
파주시는 간담회에 앞서 관련 부서를 통해 건의사항을 사전 검토했으며, 현장에서 추진 방향과 향후 계획을 구체적으로 설명했다.
즉시 시행이 가능한 사안은 행정력을 집중해 신속히 추진하고, 상위 기관과의 협의나 중장기적 검토가 필요한 사업에 대해서는 단계별 이행 로드맵을 수립해 체계적으로 관리해 나갈 방침이다.
김경일 파주시장은 주민들과의 지속적인 소통을 강조하며 운정신도시가 수도권 북부의 핵심 거점 도시로 성장할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.
파주시 관계자는 "운정신도시 주민들의 목소리를 세심하게 살펴 정책과 사업에 충실히 반영하겠다"며 "주요 사업의 추진 상황을 주민들과 투명하게 공유하며 책임 있게 챙기겠다"고 말했다.

A Paju City official stated, "We will carefully examine the voices of Unjeong New Town residents and faithfully reflect them in our policies and projects," adding, "We will transparently share the progress of major projects with residents and responsibly oversee them."
