<브레이크뉴스 가평 = 이용하 기자> 가평군 설악면 일대가 이웃 간의 정겨운 웃음소리와 뜨거운 응원 열기로 가득 찼다.
설악면은 지난 21일 행정복지센터 광장에서 32개 리 마을 주민들이 한데 모인 가운데 '제3회 설악면 전통 민속놀이 화합 한마당'을 성황리에 개최했다고 24일 밝혔다.
설악면 이장협의회가 팔을 걷어붙이고 주관한 이번 행사는 한국수력원자력㈜ 청평수력발전소의 든든한 후원 아래 지역 기관과 단체, 주민들이 하나 되는 대통합의 축제로 꾸며졌다. 특히 서태원 가평군수를 비롯해 김경수 가평군의회 의장, 김용태 국회의원, 임광현 경기도의원 등 지역 정관계 인사들도 대거 참석해 주민들과 격의 없는 소통의 시간을 가졌다.
이날 행사의 백미는 단연 32개 마을이 자존심을 걸고 맞붙은 '윷놀이 토너먼트'였다. 엎치락뒤치락하는 승부 속에서 주민들은 함께 환호하며 끈끈한 정을 나눴다. 이 밖에도 제기차기와 투호 등 다채로운 전통놀이 경연이 이어져 남녀노소 모두가 즐기는 흥겨운 한마당이 연출됐다.

조태희 이장협의회장은 "주민 화합을 위해 아낌없는 지원을 보내준 한국수력원자력 청평수력발전소와 설악면 행정복지센터에 진심으로 감사드린다"며 "올해의 뜨거운 열기를 동력 삼아 내년 제4회 행사는 더욱 풍성하고 알찬 프로그램으로 준비하겠다"고 포부를 밝혔다.
