파주시가 디지털 전환 시대를 맞아 미래 농업을 이끌어갈 전문 인재 양성에 본격적으로 나섰다.
파주시는 지난 23일 파주시농업기술센터에서 신입생과 관계자 등 70여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 파주농업인대학 입학식’을 개최하고, 약 4개월간의 교육 과정을 시작했다.
올해로 20주년을 맞은 파주농업인대학은 지역 농업 발전을 견인해 온 대표적인 전문 교육 프로그램이다.

특히 올해는 급변하는 농업 환경에 대응하기 위해 고부가가치 창출과 디지털 역량 강화에 초점을 맞춰 ‘이(e)-커머스반’과 ‘선도농업 인재양성반’ 등 2개 특화 과정을 운영한다.
‘이(e)-커머스반’은 스마트 기기를 활용한 농산물 사진 촬영부터 사회관계망서비스(SNS) 마케팅 실습까지, 농업인들이 직접 온라인 판로를 개척할 수 있도록 실전 중심 교육을 진행한다.
여기에 서울국제식품산업대전 견학 등 현장 체험형 프로그램도 포함된다.
‘선도농업 인재양성반’은 농업용 무인기(드론) 활용 기술과 신소득 작물 재배 교육을 통해 첨단 농업기술 도입을 지원한다.
또한 우수 농가 견학을 통해 현장 경쟁력을 높이고, 새로운 농업 모델을 모색할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 예정이다.
입학생들은 오는 7월 28일 졸업식까지 농작업 안전, 세무·회계 등 공통 필수 과목과 함께 분야별 전문 교육을 이수하게 된다.
시는 이번 교육 과정이 이론 중심을 넘어 실제 농가 소득 증대로 이어질 수 있도록 실용성과 현장성을 강화했다고 설명했다.
김은희 파주시농업기술센터 소장은 “입학생 한 분 한 분이 파주 농업의 미래이자 희망”이라며 “배움에 대한 열정으로 변화를 선도하고 지속 가능한 농업의 주인공으로 성장해 주길 바란다”고 말했다.
