대전광역시가 도심의 빈 공간을 활용해 첨단 농업을 육성하는 ‘대전팜’의 내실을 다지기 위해 운영 주체 간의 연대 전선을 구축했다.
이를 위해 대전시는 24일 대전일자리경제진흥원에서 ‘대전팜 협의체’를 공식 출범하고 상호 협력 체계 마련을 위한 첫 번째 회의를 개최했다.
'대전팜'은 도시 내부의 유휴공간이나 폐쇄된 지하보도 등을 활용해 농작물을 재배하는 대전시 고유의 도시형 스마트농업 모델이다.
2023년부터 본격적인 시동을 걸어 현재까지 총 9곳이 조성되어 활발히 운영 중이다. 이들 농장은 단순 작물 재배에 그치지 않고 기술연구형, 테마 체험형, 실증 테스트베드형 등 각기 다른 특성을 살려 다채롭게 운영되고 있다.
이번 협의체 발족은 그동안 개별적으로 분산되어 운영되던 9개 대전팜 농장들의 유기적인 네트워크를 형성하기 위해 추진됐다. 각 운영 주체가 가진 생산, 유통, 체험 콘텐츠, 홍보 노하우를 한데 모아 사업의 자생력을 높이고 시너지 효과를 내겠다는 취지다.
이날 열린 첫 회의에는 대전팜을 이끌어가는 9개 운영사 대표들을 비롯해 대전시 농생명정책과 및 대전일자리경제진흥원 관계자들이 참석했다.
참가자들은 지금까지의 운영 성과와 현황을 공유하는 한편, 도심형 농업을 추진하며 맞닥뜨린 현실적인 고충과 제도적 개선점에 대해 가감 없는 의견을 교환했다.
특히 단순 작물 판매를 넘어 시민들이 직접 참여할 수 있는 체험 및 교육 프로그램의 연계 확대 방안과 공동 마케팅 전략이 집중적으로 다뤄졌다. 대전팜 협의체는 이번 첫 만남을 시작으로 매 분기 정기적인 모임을 소집할 예정이다.
이를 통해 성공적인 비즈니스 모델 발굴 및 확산 ,현장 중심의 운영 개선책 마련 ,참여 주체 간의 공동 협력 사업 등을 속도감 있게 전개해 나가기로 합의했다.
이날 협의회에서는 초대 회장으로 그린팜 박종대 대표를 선임했다.
초대 회장에 선임된 박종대 대표는 "도심현 스마트팜 활성화와 안정적인 정착을 위해 대전시 정책에 적극 참여 하고, 회원 모두가 성장의 꿈을 이룰 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 하겠다"고 소감을 전했다.
박영철 대전시 녹지농생명국장은 대전팜 협의체가 도심형 스마트농업의 현장 노하우를 공유하는 든든한 상생 플랫폼이 될 것이라며 기대감을 드러냈다.
