파주시는 지난 24일 ‘제210회 민생온(On) 기본업(Up) 소상공인 이동시장실’을 열고, 지역 소상공인들과 함께 경제 위기 극복 및 지역 경제 활성화 방안을 논의했다.
민선 8기의 핵심 현장 소통 창구로 자리 잡은 ‘이동시장실’은 시장이 직접 현장을 찾아 시민들의 불편 사항을 청취하고 해결책을 모색하는 시민 중심의 행정 서비스다.

이번 행사에는 착한가격업소 및 식품위생등급지정업소 관계자를 비롯해 금촌명동로시장상인회, 파주맛고을상가번영회, 법원읍상인회, 외식업중앙회 파주시지부, 파주인쇄소공인특화지원센터 등 지역 경제의 주축인 소상공인 50여 명이 참석해 현장의 생생한 목소리를 전달했다.
이날 참석자들은 고금리 기조의 장기화와 소비 심리 위축, 인건비 상승 등 내부적 요인에 더해 최근 중동 정세 불안이라는 대외적 악재까지 겹치면서 소상공인들이 겪는 경영 부담이 한계치에 다다랐다는 점에 깊이 공감했다.
이에 따라 소상공인의 실질적인 경쟁력을 강화할 수 있는 지원책과 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 물가 안정을 위한 민관 협력 방안에 대해 심도 있는 토론을 이어갔다.

파주시 관계자는 “대외적 불안 요소로 인해 소상공인과 시민들의 경제적 고충이 큰 시기에 직접 소통하며 해법을 고민한 뜻깊은 자리였다”며 “현장에서 나온 소중한 의견들을 정책에 적극적으로 반영해 시민들이 피부로 느낄 수 있는 민생경제 활성화를 이끌어내겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 파주시는 위축된 지역 경제를 살리기 위해 소상공인 운전자금 지원 및 소공인 자생력 강화 사업을 추진 중이다.
