"We will carry out continuous inspections and guidance activities to ensure that youth can grow up safely without being exposed to harmful environments as the new semester begins."
[Break News Dongducheon = Reporter Kim Wan-young] On March 20, the Dongducheon City Youth Harmful Environment Monitoring Team (Team Leader Kwon Tae-yeon) conducted a youth guidance and protection campaign and inspected harmful environments in major commercial areas and around schools within Dongducheon City to mark the start of the new semester.
This campaign was conducted to prevent deviant behavior among youth in advance and to raise public awareness regarding youth protection, thereby creating a safe and healthy educational and growth environment. On this day, approximately 50 people, including monitoring team members and city officials, conducted a campaign for youth protection and inspected violations of the Youth Protection Act in the Jihaeng-dong new town area, parks, and around schools. The inspections covered various measures, including prohibiting entry into or employment at establishments harmful to youth, banning the sale of substances harmful to youth (alcohol, tobacco, etc.), prohibiting the distribution of unwholesome advertisements and leaflets, banning cohabitation between youths of the opposite sex, and protecting at-risk youth.
Kwon Tae-yeon, Head of the Youth Harmful Environment Monitoring Team, expressed his commitment, stating, "With the start of the new semester, we will carry out continuous inspections and guidance activities to ensure that youth can grow up safely without being exposed to harmful environments."
Dongducheon Mayor Park Hyung-deok said, "I thank the members of the Youth Harmful Environment Monitoring Team for actively participating in youth protection despite their busy schedules," adding, "I will do my utmost to create a Dongducheon City where youth can live with peace of mind."
