조선업 호황, 지역 경제 선순환 구조로 이어간다

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 거제시가 조선업 회복의 성과를 지역경제 전반으로 확산하기 위한 상생협력 체계 구축에 나섰다.

거제시는 지역과 기업의 동반성장을 위해 25일 거제시청에서 변광용 거제시장, 이성락 삼성중공업 부사장, 임원배 한화오션 노사상생협력본부장이 참석한 가운데 ‘지역상생발전 협약’을 체결했다.

거제시와 양대 조선소는 지역 발전을 위해 다양한 노력을 기울여왔지만, 개별 사업 위주의 접근방식으로는 인력난 해소, 정주 여건 개선, 지역경제 회복 등 구조적인 문제 해결에 한계가 있다는 데 공감대를 형성해 왔다.

따라서 조선업 호황을 지역경제 회복으로 연결하기 위해서는 거제시와 기업 간 상생협력 체계 구축이 필요하다는 목소리가 제기됐고, 이에 양대 조선소가 화답하면서 협약이 전격 성사됐다.

협약이 체결됨에 따라 거제시와 양대 조선소는 민관협의체 및 실무협의체를 구성해 △노동자 처우개선과 복지향상, △근로환경 개선, △외국인 노동자의 안정적 정착 지원, △지역 인재 채용 확대, △조선산업 기술력 향상과 경쟁력 강화 등 주요 과제에 공동으로 대응해 나갈 계획이다.

특히, 삼성중공업과 한화오션은 성과급 동일 지급 등 노동 현장의 상생협력을 위한 노력을 이어가고 있으며, 이번 협약을 계기로 이러한 상생의 흐름을 지역과 산업 전반으로 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
