[브레이크뉴스 동두천=김완영 기자] 경기도 동두천시자원봉사센터는 지난 24일 생연공유누리센터 강당에서 12개 자원봉사단체와 동두천 로타리클럽이 참여한 가운데 ‘사랑의 푸드트럭’ 운영 활성화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)과 간담회를 개최했다.
이번 간담회는 동두천 로타리클럽과 국제로타리본부의 전폭적인 지원으로 제작된 ‘사랑의 푸드트럭’의 본격적인 운영에 앞서 민·관 협력 체계를 구축하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 협약에 참여한 12개 단체는 앞으로 월 2회에 걸쳐 독거 어르신, 외국인 이주민, 결식아동 등 복지 사각지대에 놓인 취약계층을 대상으로 무료 급식과 재능 나눔 활동을 공동으로 추진하기로 뜻을 모았다.
박형덕 동두천시장은 인사말에서 “사랑의 푸드트럭은 단순한 급식 차량을 넘어, 우리 사회의 소외된 이웃들에게 희망과 온기를 전하는 움직이는 복지 거점이 될 것”이라며, “국제적인 나눔을 실천해 준 로타리클럽과 바쁜 생업 중에도 기꺼이 손을 잡아주신 자원봉사 단체장에게 깊은 감사를 드리며, 시에서도 성공적인 푸드트럭 운영을 위해 적극 지원하겠다”라고 말했다.
사업의 중추적 역할을 한 동두천 로타리클럽 김태훈 회장은 “사업의 시작을 알리는 첫날, 협력 봉사단체와 함께 시작할 수 있게 되어 매우 뜻깊게 생각한다”라며, “오늘 협약을 맺은 봉사단체들과 함께 정성껏 준비한 한 끼 식사가 어려운 이웃들에게 큰 위로가 되길 바라며, 푸드트럭이 멈추지 않고 달릴 수 있도록 사명감을 갖고 봉사하겠다”라고 전했다.
한편, 이날 간담회에서 운영 계획을 확정한 ‘사랑의 푸드트럭’은 오는 4월 15일 오전 10시 동두천 시민회관에서 협력 봉사단체와 태국 국제로타리 본부 회장단이 참석한 가운데 성대한 기증식을 갖고 본격적인 나눔의 행보를 시작할 예정이다.
