대전광역시에 첫 공공 돌봄 중심의 시립요양원이 문을 열고 본격적인 운영에 돌입했다. 대전시는 동구 판암동에 건립된 ‘대전광역시립요양원’이 26일 개원식을 가졌다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 이장우 대전시장과 박희조 동구청장, 김인식 대전시사회서비스원장 등 주요 관계자와 지역 주민 100여 명이 참석해 경과보고와 테이프 커팅, 시설 관람 등을 함께했다.
동구 판암동에 자리 잡은 대전시립요양원은 지상 3층 규모로 조성되었으며 총 108명의 인원을 수용할 수 있다.
내부 공간은 1인실 9개, 3인실 9개, 4인실 18개 등 총 36개의 생활실로 구성되어 어르신들에게 쾌적한 주거 환경을 제공한다.
특히 가정과 유사한 따뜻한 분위기를 구현하기 위해 1개 유닛당 12명이 생활하는 유닛형 공간 9개를 도입했으며, 노약자와 장애인이 이동하는 데 불편함이 없도록 '장애물 없는 생활환경(BF)' 인증을 획득해 안전성을 높였다.
이번에 개원한 시립요양원은 단순한 수용 시설을 넘어 공공성과 전문성을 갖춘 맞춤형 의료 복지 서비스를 지향한다. 전체 9개 유닛 가운데 2개 유닛은 치매전담실로 지정되어 치매 어르신들을 위한 집중적인 인지 강화 프로그램을 운영한다.
