충주시 헌혈추진협의회는 ‘충주시 헌혈 권장에 관한 조례’에 따라 충주시보건소를 비롯해 대한적십자사 충북혈액원, 충주교육지원청 등 11개 기관 관계자로 구성됐다.
회의에서는 △충주시 헌혈 추진 현황 공유 △혈액 수급 위기 대응 방안 △기관별 협력 사업 발굴 △헌혈 참여 확대를 위한 홍보 전략 등이 논의됐다.
특히 최근 저출산·고령화와 헌혈 인구 감소로 혈액 수급이 어려운 상황 속에서, 지역사회가 함께 참여하는 지속 가능한 헌혈 환경 조성의 필요성에 대해 참석자들이 공감대를 형성했다.
참석 기관들은 앞으로 정기적인 협의를 통해 기관별 역할을 강화하고, 단체헌혈 확대, 헌혈 캠페인 추진, 인센티브 제공 등 다양한 협력사업을 추진하기로 뜻을 모았다.
김진석 위원장은 “헌혈은 생명을 살리는 가장 고귀한 나눔”이라며, “지역사회가 함께 참여하는 헌혈문화 정착을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 충주시는 헌혈자 지원을 위한 예산을 매년 증액하는 등 헌혈 활성화와 혈액 수급 안정화에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
