This competition was organized to improve the basic physical fitness of local children and spread a healthy sports culture. In particular, this year the eligibility criteria were expanded to include not only all elementary school grades (1st to 6th) but also preschool children born in 2020 who are scheduled to enter elementary school in 2027, thereby broadening participation opportunities for aspiring young swimmers. Approximately 300 student athletes competed at the event, showcasing their honed skills in various disciplines including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and relays. The children competed amidst the cheers of families filling the stands, experiencing a sense of challenge and accomplishment.
A city official stated, "After hosting the event last year in response to valuable citizen feedback regarding the establishment of a new children's swimming competition, we have expanded the scope of participation to provide opportunities to more children." The official added, "We will continue to strive to ensure that young athletes can fully demonstrate their abilities in a safe environment and create joyful memories with their families."
