[브레이크뉴스 양주=김완영 기자] 양주시의회 정현호 의원이 수원대학교 벨칸토아트센터 대공연장에서 열린 ‘제22회 경기사회복지대상 시상식’에서 공로부문 대상을 지난 26일 수상했다.
경기도사회복지사협회는 사회복지사의 날을 기념해 경기도사회복지사대회를 개최하고 경기도 내 사회복지 분야 유공자를 선정해 경기사회복지대상을 수여해왔다.
정현호 시의원은 경기북부 접경지역의 심각한 의료공백을 지적하고, 공공의료원 이전·신축계획 이행, 호스피스 및 웰다잉(Well-dying) 문화 확산 등 지역사회 의료복지 증진에 크게 기여한 공로로 대상을 받았다.
특히, 정 의원은 ⌜의정부 중진료권 내 공공의료원 이전·신축 계획의 일관된 이행과 공공의료 재정 기반 확충을 위한 제도 개선 촉구 건의안⌟을 대표 발의해 주목을 받았다.
그가 대표발의한 ⌜양주시 호스피스·완화의료 및 웰다잉 문화조성에 관한 조례⌟와 ⌜양주시 장기등 인체조직 기증 장려에 관한 조례⌟는 초고령사회에 진입한 우리나라의 지역사회에 양질의 의료서비스를 제공하는 동시에 고귀한 생명의 가치를 일깨우는데 일조했다.
