청년층의 주거비 부담을 낮추기 위한 ‘국토교통부 청년월세 지원사업’이 올해에도 이어진다.
대전시는 30일부터 신규 수혜자 접수를 시작하며, 경제적 여건이 어려운 무주택 청년들의 생활 안정을 돕겠다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 지난해 한시적으로 운영되던 청년월세 지원사업을 정례화한 것으로, 청년들의 주거난이 심화된 현실을 반영해 올해부터는 계속사업으로 전환됐다. 지원대상은 부모와 별도로 거주하는 만 19세 이상 34세 이하 무주택 청년이다.
소득 및 자산 조건은 △청년가구 기준 중위소득 60% 이하(자산 1억 2,200만 원 이하) △원가구 기준 중위소득 100% 이하(자산 4억 7,000만 원 이하)로, 두 기준을 모두 충족해야 한다.
지원 금액은 실제 임대료를 기준으로 월 최대 20만 원까지, 최장 24개월(24회)에 걸쳐 지급된다. 선정된 청년들은 신청 시점 이후뿐 아니라 5월분부터 월세를 소급 지원받을 수 있다.
신청은 3월 30일부터 5월 29일까지 복지로 누리집 또는 주소지 행정복지센터에서 가능하며, 신청 대상자는 9월 중 최종 발표될 예정이다.
대전시 관계자는 “청년세대의 가장 큰 고민 중 하나가 주거비인 만큼, 이번 지원이 청년들이 지역에 안착하고 자립하는 데 실질적인 도움이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
