고양특례시 일산1동 주민자치회는 지난 27일 일산서구 소재 장독마을에서 ‘독마을 전통 장 담그기 행사’를 개최하며 지역 고유의 전통문화를 계승하고 이웃 나눔을 실천하는 뜻깊은 시간을 마련했다.

올해로 6년째 이어지고 있는 이번 행사는 일산1동의 옛 지명인 ‘독점말(독짓는 마을)’에서 유래한 지역 특색 문화행사로, 전통 장 담그기 문화를 주민과 함께 공유하고 공동체 의식을 높이기 위해 꾸준히 추진되고 있다.
이날 행사에는 주민자치회 위원들과 자원봉사자들이 함께 참여해 정성껏 장을 담그며 전통의 의미를 되새겼다.
이번에 담근 전통 장은 일정 기간 숙성을 거친 뒤 간장과 된장으로 나눠 가을 무렵 관내 취약계층 등 도움이 필요한 이웃에게 전달될 예정이다.
이영식 일산1동 주민자치회 회장은 “우리 마을의 전통을 잇는 행사를 개최하게 되어 매우 뜻깊다”고 설명했으며 이어 “직접 담근 장을 어려운 이웃들과 나누며 더욱 의미 있는 행사가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
유경옥 일산1동장은 “살기 좋은 일산1동을 만들기 위한 주민자치회의 노력에 감사하다”고 말했다.
