제10대 천안시의회 개원을 앞두고 의회 사무국 직원들의 전문성을 높이기 위한 역량 강화 교육이 본격적인 궤도에 올랐다.
천안시의회는 의정활동 지원의 질을 높이고 개원 초기 발생할 수 있는 행정적 혼선을 예방하기 위해 실무 중심의 맞춤형 교육 프로그램을 추진한다고 밝혔다.
이번 교육 과정은 단순한 이론 학습에서 벗어나 현장 대응력과 정책 지원 역량을 실질적으로 끌어올리는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
주요 일정은 오는 4월 9일부터 시작되는 선진의회 비교 견학을 필두로, 정책지원관의 전문성을 강화하기 위한 워크숍(4월 16일~17일), 개원 준비에 필요한 행정 절차를 익히는 실무 과정(4월 28일~30일) 등이 촘촘하게 이어진다.
특히 5월에는 태안국제원예치유박람회 예정지를 직접 방문하는 정책 현장 탐방이 계획되어 있어, 의원들의 의정활동을 보좌하는 직원들이 실제 정책 현장을 읽는 안목을 기를 수 있도록 했다.
정규운 천안시의회 사무국장은 의회 운영의 안정성을 확보하기 위해 직원 개개인의 전문성과 부서 간 협업 능력이 무엇보다 중요하다는 점을 강조했다. 정 국장은 이번 교육을 통해 의정 지원 실무 역량을 한 차원 더 높여 10대 의회 개원 준비에 만전을 기하겠다는 의지를 내비쳤다.

The key schedule is packed with activities, starting with a comparative tour of advanced councils beginning on April 9, followed by a workshop to strengthen the expertise of policy support officers (April 16–17), and a practical course to familiarize participants with the administrative procedures necessary for the opening (April 28–30).
