The city announced that it held a “Safety Management Working Committee” meeting on the 2nd to deliberate on the festival’s safety management plan.
The meeting was attended by 13 people, including Vice Mayor Kim Jeong-il as chairman, representatives from the Citizen Safety Division and the Culture and Tourism Division (the department in charge of the festival), as well as officials from the Yangju Police Station, Yangju Fire Station, and the electricity, gas, and telecommunications sectors.
The committee reviewed overall safety measures for the festival, focusing on the safety management plan for the Royal Festival, which begins on the 17th. In particular, with over 100,000 visitors expected, the committee focused on discussing pre-control plans and methods for deploying safety personnel.
In addition, field-oriented response tasks were reviewed, including crowd dispersion and securing movement paths, traffic and parking management, disaster preparedness insurance coverage, and the establishment of an emergency response system. Measures to strengthen cooperation among relevant agencies for a swift response in the event of an emergency were also shared.
Based on the matters discussed at this committee meeting, the City plans to conduct a final inspection prior to the event to ensure the prevention of safety accidents.
