Blue House: "First supplementary budget to be submitted and compiled in 3 to 6 months... Talking about a second supplementary budget at this point is premature."
Kim Yong-bum: "We have drawn up a first supplementary budget of 26 trillion won, and our top priority is swift deliberation and execution. We have allocated 480 billion won for a 50% price subsidy; if prices rise, we will share the burden through policy financing, tax deferrals, and other policy measures."

On the 7th, the Blue House dismissed the possibility of formulating a second supplementary budget, stating, "This (first) supplementary budget was drawn up assuming a three-month direct impact and a six-month indirect impact," and adding, "Given the current situation, it is premature to talk about it."
Chief of Policy Kim Yong-bum conveyed this during a briefing at the Chunchugwan this morning, saying, "This supplementary budget has been drawn up at a scale of 26 trillion won, and the top priority is its swift deliberation and execution."
He further emphasized, "Since it has been prepared at a level sufficient to respond for about three to six months, the situation thereafter is a matter to be considered after faithfully executing the (first) supplementary budget."
He added, "It is closely related to the war situation (in the Middle East), so we need to respond accordingly; for now, the priority is the swift execution of the first supplementary budget." Regarding the supply and price of naphtha, a key raw material for the petrochemical industry, he stated, "For naphtha, volume is the most urgent priority; we must secure supplies even if it means paying a slightly higher price," adding that "we are currently designing a policy that prioritizes securing volume."
He continued, "The supplementary budget includes 480 billion won to provide price subsidies of up to 50%, but during the communication process with oil refineries and the National Assembly, there was a proposal from the ruling party to increase this ratio further." He added, "If prices rise, we will likely need to share the burden through other policy measures, such as policy financing and tax deferrals."
He further added, "For consumers, we will proceed with what is reflected in the supplementary budget, and for what cannot be covered, we will need to design additional policies using reserve funds."
