대전 보문산에 위치한 테마파크 ‘오월드’에서 사육 중이던 늑대 1마리가 탈출하는 사고가 발생해 방역 당국과 경찰, 소방이 긴급 포획 작전에 나섰다.
대전도시공사는 8일 오전 오월드 내 사파리에서 수컷 늑대 1마리(2024년생)가 탈출한 사실을 확인하고, 시민 안전을 위해 전력을 다해 수색 중이라고 밝혔다.
사고의 발단은 이날 오전 9시 30분경, 사파리 내 개체 수를 점검하던 중 늑대 한 마리가 보이지 않는 것을 확인하면서 시작됐다.
CCTV 확인 결과, 해당 늑대는 철조망 아래의 흙을 파내 구멍을 만든 뒤 사육 공간을 빠져나간 것으로 파악됐다.
오월드 측은 오전 9시 40분경 원내에서 늑대를 발견하자마자 입장을 대기 중이던 관람객 전원을 귀가 조치하고 자체 수색을 개시했다.
이후 사태의 심각성을 고려해 오전 10시 10분경 소방과 경찰, 대전시 등 관계 기관에 공식 신고했으며, 10시 46분부터는 현장 지휘소가 설치되어 대대적인 합동 수색이 전개됐다.
현재 수색에는 경찰 110명, 소방 37명, 오월드 자체 인력 100명 등 총 247명의 대규모 인력이 투입된 상태다.
오후 1시경에는 오월드 인근 사거리에서 늑대가 목격되었다는 제보에 따라 해당 지점으로 수색팀이 급파되어 포위망을 좁히고 있다.
