충남교육청이 에듀테크 기업 툰스퀘어와 손 잡고 인공지능 기반의 웹툰 제작 서비스인 ‘투닝’을 교육 현장에 도입한다.
교육청은 8일 업무협약을 맺어 독자적인 교육 플랫폼인 ‘마주온’에서 학생들이 전문적 실력 없이도 자신의 생각을 그림으로 시각화할 수 있는 환경을 조성했다.
인공지능이 텍스트를 분석해 상황에 어울리는 배경과 동작을 자동으로 생성해 주는 이 기술은 학생들의 이야기 구성 능력을 키우는 도구로 쓰인다.
문장을 입력하는 것만으로 만화 형식을 빌려 정보 전달이 가능하기 때문에 디지털 리터러시 교육의 새로운 지평을 열 것이라는 기대를 모은다.
특히 도내 모든 교직원은 유료로 운영하던 ‘학교 전용 이용권’을 무상으로 지원받아 비용 부담 없이 수준 높은 수업 자료를 제작할 수 있다.
별도의 가입 절차 없이 마주온 계정만으로 간편하게 접속할 수 있는 연동 체계 또한 일선 교사들의 행정적 편의성을 대폭 끌어올려 줄 수 있을 것이라는 평가다.
김지철 교육감은 민간의 혁신적인 인공지능 기술을 공공 교육에 접목함으로써 교사의 수업 혁신을 돕고 미래형 교육 환경을 탄탄하게 구축하겠다는 의지를 내비췄다.
두 기관은 오는 2027년 말까지 활용 교육과 공동 홍보를 지속하며 교실 안의 디지털 전환을 안정적으로 뒷받침할 계획이다.
