대전광역시교육청이 지진으로부터 안전한 학교 환경을 만들기 위해 대규모 예산을 투입하며 내진 성능 확보에 속도를 내고 있다.
대전교육청은 올해 방학 기간을 활용해 총 77억 원 규모의 사업비를 들여 관내 학교 및 교육 기관을 대상으로 내진 보강사업을 대대적으로 추진한다고 9일 밝혔다.
이번 사업 대상은 내진성능 평가를 실시하는 4개 기관(초등 2개교, 교육원 2개원)과 실제 내진보강 공사가 진행되는 14개교(초등 8개교, 중학 4개교, 고교 2개교)를 포함해 총 18개교 21개 동이다.
대전시교육청은 학생들의 학습권 침해를 최소화하기 위해 공사 일정을 방학 기간에 집중 배치할 계획이다.
대전교육청은 지난 2018년부터 체계적인 내진 보강을 이어오고 있다. 현재까지 내진 대상 건물 717개 동 중 583개 동에 대해 보강을 완료해 약 81%의 확보율을 기록 중이다. 교육청은 앞으로도 안정적인 예산 확보를 통해 오는 2029년까지 지역 내 모든 학교와 기관의 내진 성능을 100% 확보한다는 방침이다.
