충남 부여군의 규암면 자온로 일대가 군 역사상 첫 번째 ‘골목형상점가’로 이름을 올리며 지역경제 활성화의 새로운 전환점을 맞이했다.
부여군은 규암면 자온로 일원을 '전통시장 및 상점가 육성을 위한 특별법'에 근거해 ‘제1호 골목형상점가’로 공식 지정했다고 9일 밝혔다. 이번 지정은 침체된 골목상권에 자생력을 불어넣고 소상공인들을 체계적으로 지원하기 위한 행정적 초석이 될 전망이다.
이번에 지정된 ‘규암 자온 골목형상점가’는 총면적 9,512.7㎡ 규모로, 50여 개의 소상공인 점포가 밀집해 있다. 골목형상점가로 지정되면 기존 전통시장에만 국한됐던 온누리상품권 가맹점 등록이 가능해져 고객 유입 효과를 기대할 수 있다.
또한 중소벤처기업부의 상권 활성화 공모사업 참여 자격과 시설 현대화 지원 등 다양한 정책적 수혜를 입게 된다.
자온로 상권은 백마강과 수북정 등 부여의 대표적 관광 자원과 인접해 있어 잠재력이 높은 지역이다. 과거 교통망 변화로 한때 부침을 겪기도 했으나, 최근 개성 넘치는 독립서점, 카페, 예술 공방, 게스트하우스 등이 잇따라 들어서며 MZ세대를 비롯한 관광객들 사이에서 ‘문화·예술형 골목’으로 입소문을 타고 있다.
부여군은 이번 지정을 계기로 자온로가 단순한 소비 공간을 넘어, 지역의 역사와 예술이 살아있는 로컬 브랜드 상권으로 거듭날 수 있도록 뒷받침할 계획이다.
부여군 관계자는 “자온로 골목상권은 주민과 소상공인들이 스스로 일궈온 소중한 지역 자산”이라며 “골목형상점가 지정을 시작으로 온누리상품권 가맹 확대는 물론, 소상공인 역량 강화 교육과 상권 특성화 사업을 단계적으로 추진해 지속 가능한 상권 모델을 만들겠다”고 강조했다.
부여군은 향후 자온길의 성공 사례를 바탕으로 관내 다른 유망 상권들도 골목형상점가로 추가 발굴해, 지역 소상공인들의 경쟁력을 전방위적으로 강화해 나갈 방침이다.
