조원휘 대전시의회 의장, 유성구청장 선거 공식 출발

국민의힘 조원휘 대전시의회 의장이 유성구청장 선거의 공식 출발을 알렸다.

조 의장은 9일 오전 유성구선거관리위원회를 방문해 유성구청장 예비후보로 등록을 마쳤으며, 본격적인 선거 일정에 돌입했다. 

그는 등록 직후 “유성은 지난 16년 동안 경쟁력을 잃은 지역이었다”며 “이제는 구정의 틀을 완전히 바꿔야 할 때”라고 강조했다. 이어 “유성의 미래를 책임질 인물로 조원휘를 선택해 달라”고 지지를 호소했다.

예비후보 등록을 마친 조 의장은 같은 날 오후 3시 충남대 정문 앞 은영빌딩 7층에 위치한 선거캠프에서 첫 선거대책위원회 회의를 열고 필승 의지를 다졌다. 회의 후에는 거리인사와 명함 배부 등 현장 중심의 선거운동에 나설 계획이다.

앞서 지난 7일, 조 의장은 “정체된 유성의 16년을 끝내겠다”며 출마를 공식 선언한 바 있다. 

그는 유성 출신으로 서대전고와 한남대 행정학과를 졸업했으며, 제7대 대전시의회 후반기 부의장, 제9대 전반기 부의장, 제9대 후반기 의장을 역임하며 지방의회 경력을 쌓았다.

Daejeon City Council Chairman Cho Won-hwi Officially Launches Yuseong District Mayor Election Campaign

Cho Won-hwi, Chairman of the Daejeon City Council under the People Power Party, has announced the official start of his campaign for the Yuseong District Mayor election.

Chairman Cho visited the Yuseong District Election Commission on the morning of the 9th to complete his registration as a preliminary candidate for the Yuseong District Mayor position, officially beginning his campaign schedule.
