대전시교육청과 대전 동구청이 경계선지능 학생들의 학습과 성장을 공공이 직접 책임지는 통합 지원 모델을 전국 최초로 선보였다.
양 기관은 10일 동구청에서 ‘경계선지능 아동 성장지원사업’ 업무협약을 체결하고, 조기 발굴부터 맞춤형 치료까지 한 번에 이어지는 ‘원스톱 통합지원 체계’를 본격 가동하기로 했다.
이번 협약은 교육청의 진단 시스템과 지자체의 복지 재원을 결합해 사각지대에 놓였던 경계선지능 학생들을 체계적으로 돕기 위해 마련됐다.
지원 체계의 핵심은 ‘조기 발견’과 ‘절차의 간소화’다. 대전시교육청은 2026년부터 관내 초등학교 2학년 학생 전체를 대상으로 선별검사를 시행해 위험군을 조기에 찾아낸다.
이후 학습종합클리닉센터의 심층 진단을 통과한 학생은 동구청과 연계되어 별도의 추가 검사 없이 즉시 지원을 받게 된다.
특히 대전 동구청은 고향사랑기금을 활용해 학생 1인당 최대 100만 원의 치료비를 지원하기로 했다.
