이번 사업은 인공지능(AI) 기반 시뮬레이션 기술을 활용해 제품 생산 이전 단계에서 설계·성능을 가상으로 예측하고 검증할 수 있도록 지원하는 것으로, 제품 개발 기간 단축과 비용 절감을 동시에 달성하는 데 목적이 있다.
도는 올해 총 180개 기업을 대상으로 맞춤형 기술 지원을 추진한다.
주요 지원 내용은 ▲제품·공정 설계 및 해석 시뮬레이션 기술서비스 비용 지원(36개사, 기업당 최대 1,600만원) ▲전문가 컨설팅 및 기술자문, 시뮬레이션 장비활용 지원(144개사, 현물지원) ▲센터 오피스 입주공간 지원(16개실) ▲기업수요 맞춤형 재직자 전문교육(150명) 등이다.
또한, 각 지원 분야별 충북TP, 한국기계연구원, 한국과학기술정보연구원, 한국표준협회 등 전문기관이 참여해 기업맞춤형 기술지원을 체계적으로 수행한다.

충북도는 이번 사업을 통해 충북청주스마트그린산단 내 제조기업의제품 개발비 85% 절감, 개발 기간 75% 단축, 생산성 30% 향상 등 제조현장의 실질적인 공정혁신 효과를 기대하고 있다.
전영미 충북도 AI전략과장은 “충북도는 제조산업의 인공지능 전환(AX)을 촉진하기 위해 정부예산 확보, 실증 지원, 인력양성 강화 등 맞춤형 정책을 지속 확대할 것”이라며 “충북 전역에 AI 기반 스마트 제조혁신이 확산될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
