문화체육관광부와 한국관광공사가 주관하는 이번 열린여행주간은 4월 14일부터 30일까지 진행되며, 장애인과 고령자, 영유아 동반 가족 등 누구나 편리하게 여행을 즐길 수 있도록 관광 복지 확대를 목표로 한다.
경주엑스포대공원은 이번 기간 동안 입장료 할인 혜택을 대폭 확대한다. 경증 장애인은 기존 대인 1만 원, 소인 8천 원에서 구분 없이 6천 원으로 인하되며, 중증 장애인과 동반 보호자 1인은 기존과 동일하게 무료 입장이 가능하다. 또한 7세 이하 영유아를 동반한 성인 2인에게는 입장료를 50% 할인해 1인당 6천 원에 이용할 수 있도록 했다.
이와 함께 종합안내센터에서는 휠체어와 유아차를 무료로 대여하고, 시각장애인과 저시력자를 위한 점자 안내책자도 제공하는 등 관람 편의 서비스를 강화했다.
김남일 사장은 “이번 열린여행주간의 캐치프레이즈인 ‘모두의 봄’이 경주엑스포대공원에서 실현될 수 있도록 누구나 자유롭게 즐길 수 있는 환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 경주엑스포대공원은 2022년 배리어프리 인증을 획득한 이후 무장애 나눔길 조성, 수어 홍보영상 제작, 점자 안내 촉지도 설치 등 무장애 관광 인프라를 지속적으로 확충해 왔다. 지난해 9월에는 서울관광재단 등 7개 기관과 함께 ‘전국 단위 유니버설 관광 거버넌스’를 출범시키며 무장애 관광 협력 체계 구축에도 나선 바 있다.
