【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=서원대학교는 한국과학창의재단이 주관하는 「2026년 초등학교 방과후 프로그램 공급 사업(소외지역 지원형)」 충청권 수행기관으로 선정돼 3년 연속 본 사업을 맡게됐다.

서원대는 2024년도 사업 운영을 시작으로 2025년에는 충청권 4개 권역에서 초등 저학년 대상 늘봄학교 프로그램을 연간 총 204학급, 8,610차시 규모로 운영하였으며, 소외지역 학교 참여율 목표치(70%)를 상회하는 등 탁월한 운영 성과를 보여 최종 평가에서 우수 등급을 받은 바 있다.
수행기관 선정에 따라 서원대는 2026년 3월부터 2027년 2월까지 충청권 소외지역 초등학교 약 200개 학급을 대상으로 다채로운 방과후 프로그램을 제공할 예정이다. 이를 통해 약 4천여 명의 학생들이 문화예술, 체육, 창의과학, 학교적응· 정서, 기타 등 다방면의 교육 기회를 누리게 된다. 특히 중등 교원 양성 대학으로서의 교육 전문성과 문화예술∙체육 분야의 우수 강사진을 적극 활용하여 초등학생 발달 특성과 지역적 요구를 반영한 방과후 교육 운영 모델을 제시할 계획이다.
