The ‘Korea Liquor Awards,’ marking its 13th year, is the largest domestic liquor competition hosted by Chosun Biz. This year saw a record-breaking 260 companies and 1,118 brands participate in fierce competition.
Yangju Doga won the Grand Prize in the traditional liquor category this year with its ‘Cheongsagwa Makgeullim.’ This company continues to build its winning record every year, following ‘Byeolsan Makgeolli’ in 2021, ‘Byeolsan Soju 25’ in 2024, and ‘So Cool’ in 2025.
Yangjugol Iga Traditional Liquor also won the Grand Prize this year with ‘Igaju.’ Following last year’s Grand Prize win for ‘Igaju Tak,’ which was launched in 2024, the company continued its success this year. Furthermore, the company is recognized for its excellent quality every year, including recording the Grand Prize for four consecutive years with its spoonable makgeolli, ‘Ihwaju.’
Lee Song-ju, Director of the Yangju Agricultural Technology Center, stated, “I am very proud that traditional liquors made using Yangju agricultural products have been recognized as having the highest quality in the nation,” adding, “We will spare no support to ensure that traditional liquor companies can coexist and grow together with farmers.”
