전남도, 산불 대응 역량 강화… 일반공무원 진화대 현장교육 실시

(무안·순천=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전라남도는 13일 무안 남악 복합주민센터에서 공무원들의 산불 대응 역량을 높이기 위한 ‘2026년 일반공무원 진화대 현장교육’을 실시했다.

지난 2024년부터 운영 중인 ‘일반공무원 진화대’는 전남도와 22개 시군 공무원들로 구성되어 올해로 2년째를 맞았다. 이들은 산불 피해 면적이 10ha 이상으로 확산될 경우, 통합지휘권자의 판단에 따라 현장에 투입되어 잔불 정리와 뒷불 감시 등 핵심적인 지원 임무를 수행한다.

이날 교육에는 도청과 무안군 소속 진화대원 등 약 300명이 참석했다. 교육 프로그램은 ▲최근 산불 발생 현황 ▲진화대 행동 요령 및 안전수칙 ▲야간 산불 대응법 등 이론 교육과 현장 실습을 병행하여 실전 대응 능력을 키우는 데 집중했다. 특히 지형이 험하고 위험 요소가 많은 산불 현장의 특성을 고려해 안전사고 예방 교육에 무게를 뒀다.

전남도는 서부권 교육에 이어 오는 28일에는 광양 중마동 커뮤니티센터에서 동부권 일반공무원 진화대원을 대상으로 추가 현장교육을 이어갈 계획이다.

강신희 전남도 산림자원과장은 “이번 교육이 실제 현장에서 안전하고 체계적으로 대응할 수 있는 역량을 갖추는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “산불 현장은 한순간의 방심이 대형 사고로 이어질 수 있는 만큼, 대원들에게 가장 중요한 원칙은 첫째도 둘째도 안전”이라고 강조했다.
