계룡시 고교 내 교사 피습 사건 관련 성명 발표 ‘관계 회복’ 노력에도 흉기 피습

전국교직원노동조합 충남지부(이하 전교조 충남지부)가 13일 충남 계룡시의 한 고등학교에서 발생한 교사 피습 사건과 관련해 성명을 내고, 충남교육청의 안일한 안전 체계를 비판하며 재발 방지 대책 마련을 강력히 요구했다.
이날 오전 해당 학교 교장실에서는 한 학생이 과거 중학교 시절 생활지도를 담당했던 교사를 흉기로 공격해 상해를 입히는 사건이 발생했다. 전교조 충남지부는 사건 발생 직후 현장을 방문해 실태 파악에 나섰으며, 피해 교사가 가장 안전해야 할 학교 안에서 무방비하게 공격받은 점에 대해 깊은 유감을 표명했다.
전교조 충남지부가 파악한 내용에 따르면, 피해 교사는 해당 학생의 중학교 시절 학생부장으로서 정당한 생활지도를 수행해왔다. 특히 피해 교사는 평소 해당 학생과의 관계 회복을 위해 손편지까지 작성하는 등 교육자로서 헌신적인 노력을 기울여 온 것으로 알려졌다.

전교조 충남지부는 성명을 통해 충남교육청에 교사와 학생이 안심하고 상담할 수 있는 구체적인 재발 방지 대책을 즉각 수립할 것, 피해 교사의 치료와 회복은 물론, 사건을 목격하거나 직간접적 영향을 받은 동료 교사 및 학생들에 대한 심리 치료를 전폭 지원할 것, 무너진 학교 공동체 회복을 위한 범도청 차원의 종합 대책을 마련할 것 등 요구 사항을 강력히 촉구했다.
전교조 충남지부 관계자는 “피해 선생님의 빠른 쾌유를 간절히 바란다”며 “더 이상 학교가 교사에게 걱정거리가 아닌, 교육 활동과 학습권이 온전히 보호받는 공간이 될 수 있도록 교육청이 책임 있는 자세를 보여야 한다”고 강조했다.
