청와대가 14일 대통령 세종 집무실 건립 부지 조성 공사를 15일 입찰 공고 한다고 전했다.
이규연 홍보소통수석은 이날 오후 춘추관 브리핑에서 이같이 말한 후 "대상 부지 35만㎡, 사업비 98억 원, 공사 기간 14개월"이라고 했다.
그러면서 "부지 조성 공사는 국가 균형 성장의 상징적 중요 의미를 지닌다"며 "행정 수도 완성이란 국민과의 약속을 문서에만 있는 계획·정치 구호로 두지 않고 현장 실천하는 첫 행동·공사·삽이기 때문"이라고 했다.
또 "설계 과정을 거쳐 내년 8월 건축 공사에 들어간다"며 "대통령은 퇴임식을 세종서 하겠다는 의지를 거듭 밝히며 임기 내 세종 집무실을 이용할 수 있게 신속 공사하라고 지시했다"고 전했다.
이어 "2029년 8월까지 세종 집무실에 입주할 수 있도록 최선 노력을 다하겠다"며 "이를 통해 행정수도를 완성하고 진정한 국가 균형 성장 시대를 열어가겠다"고 덧붙였다.
청와대는 현재 진행 중인 대통령 세종 집무실 설계 공모 당선작을 이달 말 선정·발표할 계획이다.
