스마트팜·대학 협력 연계한 ‘통합 정착 플랫폼’ 높은 평가
청년 단체 ‘빌드업’ 주도, 농업 부산물 업사이클링 등 전문성 확보
충남 논산시가 행정안전부 주관 ‘2026년 청년마을 만들기’ 공모사업에 최종 선정되며 청년 유입과 지역 활성화를 위한 강력한 동력을 확보했다.
이번 선정은 단순한 체험 위주 프로그램에서 벗어나 청년들이 지역에 실제로 뿌리 내릴 수 있는 실질적인 정착 모델을 제시한 결과로, ‘청년마을 만들기’는 인구 감소 지역에 청년들이 머물며 지역의 새로운 활력을 불어넣는 사업으로, 청년들이 주도적으로 공간을 조성하고 지역 자원을 활용한 콘텐츠를 개발하는 프로젝트다.
논산시는 이번 공모에서 청년들이 지역과 관계를 맺는 단계부터 주거 확보, 일자리 창출, 공동체 형성까지 이어지는 ‘통합 정착 플랫폼’을 제안해 사업 타당성을 인정받았다.
특히 ‘논산 딸기산업 스마트팜 복합단지’와 연계하여 청년들이 첨단 농업 분야에서 창업과 취업을 실현할 수 있는 지속 가능한 모델을 구체화한 점이 주효했다.
성공적인 사업 추진을 위해 지역 인프라와의 유기적 협력 체계도 구축했다.
건양대학교 RISE사업단은 청년 농업인들을 대상으로 스마트팜 기술 교육과 컨설팅을 제공해 현장 중심의 전문성을 높인다.
청년 단체 ‘빌드업(Build-Up)’은 농업 부산물 업사이클링 기술력을 인정받아 농식품부 장관상을 수상한 전문 단체로, 이번 사업의 실질적인 운영을 맡아 전문성을 더한다.
논산시는 올해 하반기부터 본격적인 행보에 나선다. 지역 특산물인 딸기를 매개로 한 ‘딸기 로드’ 구축과 청년 간의 네트워크를 형성하는 ‘딸기썸’ 등 다채로운 프로그램을 통해 외부 청년들을 유치할 계획이다.
