디지털 기기 뒤에 숨어 갈수록 교묘해지는 성범죄를 뿌리 뽑기 위해 대전 시민들이 직접 ‘사이버 파수꾼’으로 나섰다.
대전디지털성범죄피해자지원센터는 14일 대전YWCA 1층 상담실에서 디지털 성범죄 예방 및 시민 주도형 감시체계 구축을 위한 ‘2026년 디지털 성범죄 사이버감시단 발대식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
지난해에 이어 2년 연속 추진되는 이번 사업은 시민들이 직접 온라인 유해 환경을 정화한다는 점에서 의미가 크다.
이번에 선발된 6명의 시민 감시단은 온라인 플랫폼상에 유포된 성착취물과 불법 촬영물 등을 실시간으로 찾아내 신고하는 막중한 임무를 맡게 된다.
이날 발대식은 감시단원들이 참석한 가운데 위촉장 전달과 결의문 낭독 순으로 진행됐다.
단원들은 디지털 성범죄 모니터링 및 신고 활동을 성실히 수행해 시민들의 안전한 일상을 지키겠다는 강력한 의지를 다졌다.
공식 행사 직후에는 단원들의 전문성을 높이기 위한 집중 교육이 이어졌다.
교육은 '디지털 성범죄의 세부 유형과 관련 법령 이해, 디지털 환경 현황 분석, 모니터링 활동일지 작성 가이드라인' 등을 중심으로 구성됐다.
시민 사이버감시단은 오는 11월 말까지 주요 SNS와 불법·유해 사이트 등을 대상으로 본격적인 감시 활동에 돌입한다.
주요 활동 내용은 불법 콘텐츠 모니터링을 비롯해 '신속한 신고 및 삭제·차단 연계, 디지털성범죄피해자지원센터 홍보 및 예방 캠페인 전개' 등이다. 센터 측은 감시단의 외연 확장을 위해 참여자 모집을 지속할 계획이다.
대전YWCA성폭력가정폭력상담소 정현주 소장은 “2024년부터 센터를 위탁 운영하며 쌓아온 전문성을 바탕으로 올해 더욱 촘촘한 사이버 감시망을 가동하겠다”며 “불법 촬영물 유통과 온라인 성착취를 근절하는 든든한 파수꾼 역할을 수행하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
