【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=국민의힘 김재원 포항시의원(다선거구) 예비후보가 오는 18일 오전 11시 선거사무소 개소식을 열고 본격적인 선거전에 돌입한다고 15일 밝혔다.
김 예비후보는 지난달 13일 예비후보 등록을 마친 뒤 포항시 북구 용흥동 현대타워2차 상가에 선거사무소를 마련하고 지역 민심을 다져왔다. 이번 개소식을 계기로 조직 정비와 함께 세 확장에 나설 계획이다.
그는 이번 선거의 핵심 비전으로 ▲일자리 창출 ▲보육환경 개선 ▲생활여가 인프라 확충을 제시했다. 이를 바탕으로 주민 삶의 질을 높이는 생활밀착형 정책을 집중 추진하겠다는 구상이다.
세부 공약으로는 복지회관 및 체육시설 건립, 행정복지센터 신축 이전, 버스 노선 및 배차 간격 조정, 상습 교통정체 구간 개선, 생활형 산책로 조성 등이 포함됐다. 지역 현안을 반영한 맞춤형 정책으로 실질적인 변화를 이끌겠다는 의지다.
포항 출신인 김 예비후보는 대흥초·대흥중·포항고를 졸업하고 연세대학교 기계공학과를 나왔다. 이후 지역 언론사에서 사회부 기자로 활동하며 지역 문제를 취재했고, 국회 보좌관으로 약 8년간 근무하며 정책과 입법 경험을 쌓았다.
김 예비후보는 “현장에서 문제를 보고, 국회에서 해결 방법을 배운 경험이 강점”이라며 “실행력 있는 정책으로 주민들이 체감할 수 있는 변화를 만들어내겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 이날 개소식에는 김정재 국회의원을 비롯한 지역 인사와 지지자들이 참석할 예정이다.

Subsequently, he worked as a social affairs reporter for a local media outlet, covering local issues, and served as a parliamentary aide for approximately eight years, gaining experience in policy and legislation.
"My strength lies in my experience of observing problems on the ground and learning solutions in the National Assembly," said Kim. "I will create tangible changes for residents through actionable policies."
Meanwhile, local figures including National Assembly member Kim Jeong-jae and supporters are expected to attend the opening ceremony on this day.
