대전광역시가 행정안전부 주관 ‘2026년 청년마을 만들기’ 공모사업에서 최종 선정되는 쾌거를 거두며 지역 청년들의 자립과 원도심 활성화를 위한 동력을 확보했다.
대전시는 중구 중촌동을 기반으로 한 청년단체 ‘바르지음’의 프로젝트 ‘위브 온 중촌(Weave on Jung-chon)’이 전국 141개 단체와의 치열한 경쟁을 뚫고 최종 선정됐다고 15일 밝혔다. 이번 선정으로 시는 향후 3년간 총 6억 원의 국비를 지원받아 청년 주도의 로컬 생태계 조성에 나선다.
‘청년마을 만들기’는 청년들이 지역에 체류하며 일자리를 실험하고, 지역 자원을 활용한 창업과 주민 교류를 통해 정착 기반을 스스로 마련하도록 돕는 국가적 프로젝트다. 올해 공모에는 전국에서 141개 단체가 몰려 14대 1이 넘는 높은 경쟁률을 기록했으며, 대전 중구를 포함한 전국 10개 지역만이 최종 낙점을 받았다.
이번에 선정된 ‘위브 온 중촌’은 중촌동 맞춤패션 특화거리의 역사적 자산과 문화를 인공지능 전환(AX) 기술과 결합한 혁신적인 프로젝트다. 패션, 예술, 콘텐츠를 융합한 창작 공동체를 구축함으로써 청년들이 원도심 내에서 지속적으로 활동할 수 있는 기반을 다지는 것이 핵심이다.
