[브레이크뉴스 양주=김완영 기자] 경기도 양주시(시장 강수현)는 ‘2040 양주 도시기본계획’ 수립 과정에 시민이 직접 참여하는 시민계획단을 구성하고, 지난 14일 양주시청 지하대회의실에서 위촉식 및 1차 회의를 개최했다.
시민계획단은 양주시의 미래상과 실천 전략을 수립하는 과정에서 시민들의 의견과 아이디어를 제시하기 위해 운영된다.
이날 위촉식에는 시장을 비롯한 관계자들이 참석한 가운데, 새롭게 구성된 50명의 시민계획단에게 위촉장을 수여하고, 시민이 공감할 수 있는 미래 비전 설정을 위한 논의를 진행했다.
양주시는 앞서 지난 2월 12일부터 3월 3일까지 공고를 통해 시민계획단 참여자를 모집하고, 공개모집 19명과 읍면동 추천 31명을 포함해 총 50명을 선발했다.
시민계획단은 ▲1분과(도시·교통) ▲2분과(경제·산업·관광) ▲3분과(경관·환경·방재·안전) ▲4분과(문화·교육·복지) 등 4개 분과로 나뉘어 분야별로 전문성과 시민 의견을 반영할 예정이다.
향후 시민계획단은 총 4차례 회의를 통해 양주시의 20년 후 미래상과 발전 방향에 대한 다양한 아이디어를 도출할 계획이며, 제시된 의견은 ‘2040 양주 도시기본계획’에 반영될 예정이다.
‘2040 양주 도시기본계획’은 향후 20년간 양주시의 공간구조와 발전 방향을 제시하는 최상위 법정계획이다. 시는 시민계획단의 다양한 의견을 수렴해 계획(안)을 마련한 뒤, 주민공청회, 시의회 의견청취, 도시계획위원회 자문 등 행정절차를 거쳐 승인권자인 경기도지사에게 승인 신청할 예정이다.
