【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=서원대학교 RISE사업단 평생교육진흥본부는 16일 전주대학교 RISE사업단 평생학습지원센터와 성인학습자 친화형 학사체계 구축 및 지역 기반 평생직업교육 활성화를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
이번 협약은 서원대학교가 선도해 온 ‘청년마이스터칼리지’ 운영 노하우를 타 지역 대학에 전수하고 대학 간 공유·협업 체계를 강화하기 위해 마련되었다. 서원대학교는 지난해 충북 북부권에 위치한 건국대학교 글로컬캠퍼스에 청년마이스터칼리지를 성공적으로 개관시키며 명장을 통한 지역 내 기술 전수 및 전문 인력 양성 플랫폼의 우수성을 입증한 바 있다.
청년마이스터칼리지는 산업현장에서 경력을 쌓은 청년 기술인에게 분야별 명장의 숙련기술과 경험을 전수해 지역 산업의 실무형 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하는 직업교육 프로그램이다. 단순 기능교육에 그치지 않고 멘토링, 기술지도, 컨설팅 등을 연계해 현장 역량을 체계적으로 높이는 데 초점을 두고 있다.
서원대학교와 전주대학교는 이번 협약을 통해 ▲청년마이스터 교육 운영 사례 및 성과 공유 ▲평생직업교육 프로그램 공동 개발 및 운영 ▲지역 정주형 인력 양성을 위한 교육과정 협력 등을 추진할 계획이다.
이번 협약은 서원대학교가 충북에서 운영해 온 청년마이스터칼리지 모델을 전북 지역 여건에 맞게 확장하는 첫 단계라는 점에서 의미가 있다. 서원대학교는 전주대학교와 협력을 통해 호남권 성인학습자와 청년을 위한 현장 중심 직업교육 기반을 넓혀갈 방침이다.
김정진 평생교육진흥본부장은 “청년마이스터칼리지는 지역 산업현장의 경험과 숙련기술을 다음 세대로 연결하는 교육 모델”이라며 “전주대학교와의 협력을 통해 지역에 필요한 직업교육 체계를 함께 만들어 가겠다”라고 말했다.
한편 서원대학교는 충북 최초로 성인단과대학인 ‘미래대학’을 설립하며 지역 평생교육을 선도하고 있다. 2025년 RISE사업을 통해 평생교육 분야에서 전국 대학 중 최상위 규모인 약 110억 원(5년)의 사업비를 확보했다. 이를 바탕으로 평생교육진흥본부를 신설하고 ‘충북 신중년 취창업사관학교’, ‘백년서원’, ‘AI디지털칼리지’, ‘청년마이스터칼리지’ 등 다양한 사업을 운영하며 충북의 평생교육 생산기지로서의 역할을 수행하고 있다.

Meanwhile, Seowon University is leading regional lifelong education by establishing the "Future College," the first college for adults in Chungbuk.
