【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=(재)제천한방천연물산업진흥재단은 올해부터 기능성 화장품과 건강기능식품 개발을 중심으로 연구개발과 사업화를 연계한 지원사업을 본격 추진한다고 밝혔다.
충청북도와 제천시의 예산 지원을 바탕으로 추진되는 이번 사업은 지역 한방천연물 산업의 경쟁력을 강화하고 기업의 성장 기반을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다.
그간 재단의 연구개발 사업은 한방천연물 소재를 활용한 제품 개발에 중점을 두어 왔다. 그러나 기능성에 대한 객관적 검증과 인증 연계가 부족해 시장 신뢰 확보와 제품 경쟁력 강화에 한계가 있었다.
재단은 이러한 한계를 보완하고 기업의 실질적인 사업화 성과를 높이기 위해 올해부터 지원사업을 전면 개편했다. 특히 기능성과 안전성이 이미 검증된 ‘고시형 원료’를 적극 활용해 소비자가 신뢰할 수 있는 기능성 화장품과 건강기능식품 개발을 집중적으로 지원할 방침이다.
이를 통해 피부 개선, 항산화, 면역력 증진 등 기능성을 갖춘 다양한 제품 개발이 촉진되고, 기업의 신속한 시장 진입도 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 재단은 제품 기획부터 품질 고도화까지 기업 현장에서 필요한 전 과정을 아우르는 맞춤형 지원을 더욱 강화할 계획이다.
